The Power of Good News - Forgiveness

Pastor Stephanie Berglund

Pastor’s Pen

I love that the word repent, means to change your mind.  One reason the Scripture is so important, is it tells us who we are in Christ.  Once you know who you are in Christ, you can make up your mind that you are who God says you are.  When you understand who you are, you can reset your mind and cultivate a wonderful new normal for your life.

There are times all of us revert to old thinking, but in Christ it won’t last.  When you make up your mind to who you are in Christ, you do what 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

A pig and a sheep can fall in the same mud.  The pig is defaulted to like the mud because it cools him down and keeps his body temperature from rising.  But if a sheep finds himself in that same mud, he will say, “I don’t belong in this mud” and set about getting himself out.

Be encouraged!  God doesn’t liken us to pigs, He likens us to sheep!  Be who you are in Christ, stay out of the mud!

Can’t wait to share the Word with you this weekend!

Our team of 14 (mostly students from the School of Ministry are getting ready to go to the Dominican Republic to build a house for the Angel Vargas Colon family. The Vargas Colon family with their two young girls, only have a borrowed place to lay their heads. We are going to change that.

If it is impossible for you to go but you want to be a part of it, we desire to purchase the family a stove, dinette set, a bed and a set of bunk beds. The cost of all of this is about $1,985 USD. If you want to be a part, simply mark a check or offering envelope Dominican Republic.

Report from the Goodness of God meeting.

There was a buzz in the air as we celebrated God’s goodness. Casey Friese gave a building update, Kerri Chamberlain, Allie Berglund, Scott Berglund, and Sandy Danielson gave exciting children’s ministry reports. We heard encouraging words from students from the School of Ministry and Pastor Tom and Roxanne Oslund gave us a report from their ministry in Sheridan. Additionally, we have been Re-Thinking Church, and our revised Constitution was approved by a 99% vote.
