Pastor’s Pen

We have been teaching on fullness. In John 14:20 Jesus said, that He was in the Father and as believers we are in Him and that He is in us. He continues the thought in John 14:23 (AMPC) Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

I think these verses introduce a shift many of us need to make. Personally, I was taught a “visitational culture.” It went something like this, “when I was good, God would be in me and upon me, but when I was not good He lifted His presence from me.”  That is pure performance-based religion. Jesus introduced a “habitational culture.” Christ is in me and I am in Christ…and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit make their abode in my life.

Sure I feel closer to God when I am walking in a manner to please Him, but God doesn’t move out every time I mess up!

No wonder the Bible says:

Colossians 1:27, Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1 John 4:17, Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

It will be the privilege of the Elder Team to Ordain Stephanie Berglund to the ministry on June 11 at 5:30 PM.  All of the Grace family is invited to be present at this wonderful time in the life of the church and in the life of Stephanie.  Stephanie will be sharing from the Word on June 10 and 11 and the Pastor Paul will be sharing from the Word at the Ordination Service.

Our next meeting is June 19.
We would love to see you there.

Can you hear me now?

Come out Sunday, June 4 from 4:00-6:00 pm and test your listening skills with Sage. This is a great time for anyone who has been curious about any of the equipment in the worship center to learn about different opportunities to serve at Grace. Instead of 2 people each week to produce the sound and media for the service, it now takes 9 to produce a great service in-house and a quality online broadcast.  If you appreciate having lyrics and sermon notes on the screen, having instruments and voices amplified, and having the ability to watch from home or anywhere you may be, please come Sunday night and consider joining our awesome team of volunteers.

Strengthen Our Hands

We are watching it grow weekly, the total of Faith Promises to date is $1,550,955.

There are cards on the information table.  Simply fill out the card or use the QR code to make a Faith Promise of what you are trusting the Lord to do through you. The Faith Promises along with the cash in hand takes us to just slightly under $3 million. God is so good and His generosity is flowing through amazingly generous people.

Our Building Task Team will have an announcement about progress on the property and building the weekend of June 10 and 11.  Don’t forget to follow along on our website: gracefellowshipwy.com/strengthen-our-hands/
