Very often we are praying, yes, pleading to God to do what He has already done. The writer to the Hebrews uses the phrase, “once and for all” four times in Hebrews. For example, Hebrews 9:12 “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.”

When we repent of our sins, God removes them from us to be remembered against us no more. Isaiah 43:25 (NLT) “I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.” So, when we keep pleading because of the residue of guilt feelings, it is futile, because we are pleading for something already done. Doesn’t it seem strange that we are focused on something already completed.

On this subject, Bill Johnson, asks a poignant question: “Is it possible that the process of constantly bringing up issues dealt with by the blood is what has actually given life to those issues?” Agree, because every time I bring it back up to God, I have to remember it and go over the pain again and again. So, my friend, stop praying about what God has already accomplished…just be grateful.

Have a great 4th of July week!

Equip 2024 But the church prayed

Equip 2024 - "But the Church Prayed"

Get a Head Start:

One of the seminars this year is "Destined for the Throne'" based on the book by the same name written by Paul Billhiemer. It would be helpful to have read the book prior to taking the class. Pastor Paul says, "Destined for the Throne" is one of the most influential books in his life.

If you want to get a head start on Equip, we have loaner books at the Information Table in the foyer, just sign it out, read it and bring it back no later than one month.
