Grace Happenings | March 3

Pastor’s Pen

Everyone wants a miracle. But here’s the catch, no one wants to be in a situation that necessitates one!

Inattentional blindness is the failure to notice something in your field of vision because you are focused on some- thing else. An interesting case study in inattentional blindness is found in John 5:8–10 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.” They were so focused on a little mat being carried on the Sabbath that they couldn’t see the miracle happening right in front of their eyes.

Miracles are happening all around us all of the time, but you won’t see them if you don’t how how to look for them. We are more apt to see them if we are looking for them. We are more apt to see them if we want to see them. We are absolutely more apt to see them if we pray in faith to the God who gives the miraculous generously.

Excited to see you this weekend!
