Grace Happenings | March 22, 2022

Pastors Pen

I am still gnawing on John 17:22, And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I have been looking at people who saw glory. Of course, Adam and Eve walked in glory before sin. Moses boldly requested to see God’s glory. Enoch evidently saw as much of the glory as he could handle, yet hungered still for more, so God transported him on to heaven. Stephen saw the glory as he was being stoned. Just as God put His glory on display to these men of God, He was to share it with us as well.

God wants to display His glory to us, but He is waiting for us to have our heart conditions right. One of the more prevalent passages in Scripture where the glory of God is on display is in Isaiah 6 where Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up and the train of His robe filled the temple. I have often skipped over verse one of that passage, In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord…Isaiah said. Remember it was never God’s will for Israel to have a king for God Himself was already their King. I believe this first verse should not be wasted, in the year that King Uzziah died. God cannot be the King of your life if there is a dependency on any other king.

As long as Uzziah is on the throne, Isaiah is not going to experience the glory. When we depend on any other king or fleshly thing then we will be unable to experience God in His glory.

Excited to celebrate the goodness of God this weekend with you!
