Grace Happenings | July 12, 2023

Pastor’s Pen

When you look for your identity outside of Christ, you will have a skewed view of yourself. When you look at your circumstances outside of His purpose and power you will feel overwhelmed by your circumstances. When you are in Christ, then so are your circumstances so there is no need to look at your circumstances through the lens of self, failure, and self-sufficiency.

Ten of the twelve spies provide us with a clear example of looking at our circumstances outside of the purpose and plan of God. Numbers 13:33 says, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

They looked at the situation outside of God’s purpose, promise, and provision. Consequently, they saw themselves as weak and powerless – as grasshoppers. Their thinking was so destructive that it took them to a place where they couldn’t inherit the promises of God.

This week in Majestic Mindset I will be challenging both myself and you to look at every situation through the lens of the goodness of God; to look not at the circumstances, but Who God is for us.

This last weekend I gave 90 confessions of Who God is for us and Who He wants to be in us. A copy of those declarations will be on the information table in the foyer this weekend, for you to declare God’s goodness over your life, circumstances, and situations.

I’ll see you this weekend.

Our next meeting is July 17.

We would love to see you there.
