Grace Happenings | August 23, 2023

Pastor’s Pen

When we spend time in God’s presence, we should want to do more that just present a list of requests-we need to listen for His voice.  Someone once said, “What is more important?   Us telling God our request which He already knows before we ask; or us listening to His voice to hear what is on His heart?

A bit ago one of the young moms in our church was telling me about stopping off at a Taco Bell.  And as she reached into her purse for her wallet, she felt a small hummingbird wind chime, she has been meaning to give to her mom. In that moment she felt prompted to give it to the lady serving her at Taco Bell.  She asked, “Do you like hummingbirds?”  “Yes, but why” came the answer?  Taking the windchime out of her purse she handed it to the employee and said, “Here this is yours!”  “Really?” was the response.  Then the tears started flowing, “I have been homeless, and I lost all my collection of hummingbird windchimes – WOW!  This means so much to me.”

When you listen to the promptings of the Lord you will be blessed and probably someone else will be blessed as a result.  Also, generosity opens the conscience of people.  What a great lesson in listening.

Can’t wait to see you at the tent again this weekend. There are sure to be more baptisms. Can’t wait.

Raised to Life t-shirts will be available to purchase at the tent. You will find them near the offering table.
