Grace Happenings | April 5, 2022

Pastors Pen

I wrote this some years ago but want to share it with you today….

The Church

The Church is His Body,

The Church is His Bride

The Church is triumphant, bought with a price.

Sealed with the Spirit

Nourished on the Scriptures

Washed in the blood.

Down through the centuries she has marched as one soldier!

Though not popular – onward she marched.

Not swayed by opinions –  but true to His word.

Confident and strong

Unashamed and undaunted

Full of Holy Spirit the Church has remained.

Though facing persecution and death,

Her face was set, her determination was strong.

She is His bride, she is His Church, triumphant and alive.

Though her faithful saints were burned at the stake, spat upon, mocked and      scorned

She wouldn’t be turned back, that very blood became the seed of faith.

She wouldn’t be silenced, stilled, or stopped or sold down the river.

And she won’t be bought or blackmailed!

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive and well.

The wonder of the church is not that she is perfect, far from it!

But she is purchased, a people who are God’s very own

People who congregate

Celebrate

Commemorate

Communicate and contemplate.

People who have been convicted,

Changed

Challenged

Converted and consecrated.

Lost in the wonder of worship!

Sheltered in the arms of fellowship!

A brotherhood that has stood arm in arm, with hearts entwined!

Shoulder to shoulder, step by step following Jesus.

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive and well.

In her past her saints have sacrificed, it is on those shoulders the present stands.

In her present, she is making a way and doing a new thing!

In her future, she will be the gatekeeper for our children and grandchildren for generations to come.

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive, and well.

Like a mighty army, she has conquered against all odds!

She has faced hatred and mockers.

She has stood to the test of emperors, kings, and popes.

She has endured false prophets and cults.

She has survived betrayal and the breeches of the integrity of her own.

She is a fire – men have tried to stamp out, but the more they stamped the more she burned.

She is an ocean they have tried to drain, but over time she has preached the gospel like waves pounding on the shore.

She has kept a light burning and flickering and true!

She has been a haven of comfort!

Provided open arms to the unlovely and the unlovable!

A dispenser of God’s love, grace, and forgiveness!

A physician of healing to the sick and infirm!

A rescuer of the perishing!

A teacher of God’s Word and godly living!

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive, and well.

Division has sought to wreck her hull!

But she stands as one body, with one faith, one baptism, and one Lord!

Though she has been through the fire, she has been true.

She is a glorious church on a sure foundation.

On through the ages, she will stand.

Washed clean without spot or wrinkle!

Ready as a Bride!

Ready for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive, and well.

Take her out of the world, you will have pandemonium!

Leave her in the world her prayers are a force to be reckoned with!

God has entrusted the world to his church, the world is at the mercy of her prayers!

The gates of hell will not prevail!

Satan is already defeated.

God is making a way God is building his church!

Her hope cannot be shattered!

Her faith cannot be corroded!

Her peace cannot be destroyed!

Threats cannot silence her courage!

Her love cannot be crippled!

Nothing can lessen the resurrection power available to her and

No one can separate her from the Love of God that is Jesus Christ our Lord!

She is God’s Church, triumphant, alive, and well.
