This weekend a prophetic word was given at Grace that came through one of the elders. (We have an awesome Elder Team). When we hear a prophetic word it is important that we know what it is and what it is not.
What it is not….
A prophetic word is not equal to Scripture…thus it should never be in conflict with Scripture. A prophetic word is never to add to Scripture.
What it is….
1 Corinthians 14:3 says, “But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging, and comfort.” In other words, the point of a prophecy is to build us up, stir us up to action or to cheer us up, encouraging us in the faith.
Here is the word that was given….let it encourage you today in your walk with the Lord:
I have not come to label you as the world does, I have come to claim you. DO NOT leave your burdens and come to me. You must bring them to me. I claim them and you no longer have a right to them. You cannot return to them but must approach me if you choose to steal them back.
This is a good word, it reminds me of an old song, “Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.”
I’ll see you this weekend, I believe God has given a fresh teaching to share with you.
