Pastor’s Pen

I hope you are reading through and preparing your heart each week as we are working through the book of Daniel.

Trials and testing are bound to come. There are three categories of adversity:

  1. Adversity of our own making—

There are trials we have or adversity that we face because of previous choices we have made.

  1. Adversity God allows for character building.

(see Luke 22:31-32)

  1. Adversity that is the result of our faith and commitment.

Being ready for adversity starts with small things. Little commitments are the foundations for bigger ones. We see this with Daniel and his three friends.

If you can’t say no to the King’s food, you won’t be able to say no to the King’s idol.  If God helped us on the food issue, He can help us with the idol issues…and step by step we begin to build a foundation under ourselves.

They settled the issue of how they would handle the big things with the little things and you can too.

Can’t wait to worship with you this weekend!
