Pastor’s Pen

To the casual observer, it looked like the Old Testament battle was being won on the battlefield; but in fact, the battle was being won on top of the mountain where Moses had hands lifted in prayer.  When Moses’ arms grew weak Aaron and Hur, one on each side, held up the arms of Moses.  Check out the whole story in Exodus 17.

Anyone in ministry needs a PIT crew (Personal Intercessory Team).  Aaron and Hur were Moses PIT crew.  It may not be a long-term assignment, but to lift up hands toward a person involved in ministry is absolutely strategic.

Grace Fellowship people who are ministering locally, at the jail, at Amy Holt and in far-off places need a prayer covering.  Again, this prayer covering is absolutely critical to the success of any level of ministry.

I am blessed to be working with a PIT Crew. For any prayer warrior, 2 Corinthians 1:10-11 is a great passage to consider: He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us,  as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

We so very often and much too glibly say, “I’ll be praying for you.”  Perhaps we are not stepping into deeper levels of prayer because we don’t understand the person lifting up the hands in prayer is just as critical and important as the person on the battlefield.

People of Grace let’s make this is a summer of prayer.

Can’t wait to see you this weekend.
